My wife and I moved to Bailey, up near Pine, almost a year ago. I wanted to wait and visit several times before providing my two cents. We've been now on weeknights, weekends, during summer and winter, tried several different items from their menu, sat in booths, at tables, in the main room, by the front window and in the back section, as well as at the bar. What I love:Their burgers, especially the buns, which collapse nicely around the burger and into my hands preventing each bite from being 80% bread, which I really hate in other burgers. Great taste.Their soups, and I have never been a soup guy. I've maybe ordered soup a dozen times in my life, but Crossroads has changed that for me. Their pork green chili is excellent, the clam chowder was great and I recently had a really a really tasty gumbo. I now always ask what the soup of the day is.Smoked wings and ribs. I've eaten a LOT of wings in my day, but these are the first I've had, that I can recall, which are smoked. Adds a really good flavor and a fantastic spin on traditional wings. Ribs fell off the bone with that same, smoked flavor and solid sauce. What I like:The location, the crowd, the staff, the beer selection and occasional live music. This is not a posh, elitist, up-scale, Downtown Denver restaurant and that works just fine for me. We didn't move to Bailey to feel like hipsters living in RiNo. Everyone has been very genuine and polite, there is a great family atmosphere (kids birthday party there one night and that was great to see) and the staff is generally engaging, pleasant, hard-working and does a great job moving through, at times, a very full house. In one instance, part of our order was lost in the shuffle, but after bringing it to the waitress' attention, it was immediately presented in ample supply along with a round of drinks on the house. It was a very busy weekend night, it's the only time it's happened to us and it was handled extremely well. What is noteworthy:Not the absolute cheapest option, but pretty easy to keep it in check and well worth the money. If it's cold outside, the high tops by the door can get very cold, as can bar seats directly in front of the door, especially on busy nights when the door opens frequently. There is a fair bit of capacity, but it can still get pretty full in the winter when everyone is inside so if the time of day, week and year line up just right, you might experience a short wait and there isn't much room to wait by the door so bring a coat if it's cold in case you have to wait outside. Never seems to be all that long though. There is a functional pool table in decent shape, which gets regular use, and a few arcade games along the back wall. There is a parking lot down next to the outdoor seating, but most people just park up next to the road. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a long line of lifted trucks parked along that rail. They seem to accept carry-out orders, although we've never done that ourselves.Despite being new(er) to the area and having only been there 10 or so times, we've recognized a few patrons from more than one visit, which just reinforces my understanding that other people have found it suitable for repeat business as well, but drop in and decide for yourself. We did, and we're very happy we did. These are just our experiences. We can't discount what others have said, good or bad, but we've been very happy there and plan to return, often.
Great food. Great service. Fun environment. Kids even make a little pizza while they wait for their food. Couldn't ask for a better place to hang out at while on vacation.
We hadn't been in a long time but saw the recent reviews and decided to give it a shot. Wow! The food was amazing. The smoked wings were outstanding smoky, crispy and hot! Everything we had was delicious and our server, Bridget, was very attentive and sweet. We will definitely be back soon.
Your typical American bar grill, I'm not sure why they say pub grill now, perhaps that's to sound catchier. Pub's are overwhelmingly a European thing, which they are not but I'm gettin off base here. They offer great food nine outta ten and I've seen this place change owners innumerable times since it was a bowling alley. Everything you could want at a bar n grill is available in my opinion and they make a pretty good ribeye too, which is basically impossible to find up here. I want to say there's still a pool table but I can't be certain. They got a really nice jukebox and do live music sometimes, bar service is on point and it's overall welcoming.
