Bidra med feedbackTold to try this place by locals. Just a couple blocks from the Pismo Beach Pier. Menu on the wall outside. Boba menu inside. Food made to order. Tasted fine. No complaints about taste. A bit on the expensive side for what you get.
There were some vegan and veggie options such as curry, salads, soups that could all be made with tofu and vegetables. They also don't have milk-milk teas my dad and I tried, but they had a lot of sugar so we weren't overly excited!! Salad (who came with all our meals!) was first brought out when we waited for our head and there were only a few simple leaves on a plate, but the dressing was good. I enjoy my “Fays special” curry and the tofu was good, but it had a fast food feeling and was not excellent. Overall, a good meal with elections, but don't have to go back!
We have visited Fay's a few times now. It is one of our go to places for Dim Sum, Boba tea and general Asian comfort food. Just wanting a small snack we got a bowl of noodles and dumplings for the kid and the adults got 1 steamer of shrimp dumplings and XLB dumplings. The flavors are excellent. The only downside is the dumplings do take a while to steam since they are raw and cooked to order. The shrimp cook faster, but the XLB take a good 10-15 minutes to cook. As long a you are ok with this and have the time they are tasty. This last time my XLB did have some cracks in the dumplings which caused the juice to run out into the steamer. Even with that little issue the dumpling were not dry and tasted great, just no tasty soup to burn your mouth with.
I had the worst food of my life at this restaurant. The shrimp was extremely salty, tasting like dog kibble with salt, and the cream cheese rangoons were stale. It seems like they air dry all their food. The portion sizes are also terrible, as they are only the size of your palm and have more stale chips than actual food. The prices are horrible at $24 for such disappointing food. I asked to change my meal and the lady admitted she knew it was super salty. I ended up with fried shrimp that tasted like frozen food from the supermarket. I will never return to this restaurant. The only good part was the crispy chips and sweet sauce.
