Café Röda Lyktan - Piteaa

The variation in the daily specials is quite limited, with only two pasta options being offered. The rest of the lunch menu also lacks variety, which can lead to boredom and prompt diners to choose other places. While the food itself isn't bad, the value for money is questionable. Charging 99 SEK for a couple of potato pancakes on a plate? That's a no-go for me. Unfortunately, this means I wouldn't prioritize dining here. Additionally, the staff could improve their customer service; a smile and a warm welcome can go a long way. Given that a relatively new large café has outcompeted many of Piteå's cafés, it might be time for this place to step up and offer something a little extra.

We planned to have a light meal there, which we did, but not in the café; instead, we went across the shopping center since the alcohol license only applied there. We ordered simple dishes like chèvre chaud and a club sandwich. However, what arrived was quite bizarre, as if a child had Googled recipes and gone wild. For instance, the chèvre chaud came with some balsamic cream, mango, various seeds, soybeans, pomegranate, red onion, cucumber, and more. It turned out to be a fun lunch, at least!
