Hopscotch Vine - Plainfield

I had a girls' lunch at this charming, trendy restaurant. It's simply yet tastefully decorated. While the menu was somewhat limited, the food was excellent, and I felt the prices were reasonable. However, if you're looking for a place to have a conversation, I would recommend the bar area instead. The back room was extremely LOUD, which made it an unwelcoming environment to enjoy dessert or drinks. The waitress was very efficient, but she came across as a bit robotic. She performed all the tasks correctly, but there wasn't much genuine warmth, and any questions or requests seemed to be an unwelcome interruption to her routine. Overall, I'm glad we stopped by, but I think I'll explore other options next time I'm in the area.

I visited this restaurant for the first time with my wife, who has a broken foot in a cast and a broken shoulder in a sling. There were two empty four-person tables outside, but they informed us that they couldn't seat two people at a four-top table. I find it incredibly disappointing that a restaurant would turn away customers like that. After this experience, we decided to leave, and I have no plans to return. I refuse to spend my money at a place that treats customers this way. There are plenty of other local, family-owned establishments that are more deserving of our support!

The service was excellent. They were very patient with our demanding group. I would appreciate a few more non-pasta options on the entree menu, but I understand the benefit of a more concise selection. My chicken in the chicken piccata was a bit dry and overcooked, but fortunately, there was plenty of sauce to remedy that. Overall, we would come back again.

The ?Smoke Daisy? ?Kiss from a Rosé? cocktailswere FABULOUS! My hubby had the ?Son of Juice? IPA (by Maplewood)? Stuffed Mushrooms Bruscetta. great appetizers!! TheDijon Salmon was cooked perfectly the Fish Chips were super yummy!! Just a lovely spot for a delicious evening! Are thelemon cake so quickly that I forgot to take a photo? YUM!

I had an event for a birthday party on this last weekend. trisha, the event coordinator, is extremely helpful and very accommodating during the planning. the private room is beautiful. there is a lot to decorate and make it personal. the two men who worked with our party were very friendly and attentive. the food was excellent, and they were in a position, for gluten-free very easy. I recommend it very much!
