Bidra med feedbackI would only give this place 2 stars because I was disappointed to hear that it was sold. We've always preferred this place over others (which I won’t name) for its great atmosphere. Sal's presence will be missed; he made life more enjoyable with his conversations, business acumen, delicious food, and community support. While I’ll give it 5 stars for now, I’m actually glad for Sal as he moves on.
I was the first customer and I was not disappointed! While shopping for Christmas, I picked up some cookies, cannoli, and biscotti. Everything was fresh and incredibly delicious—truly authentic Italian baking. They also have a location called Nonnie's in Southington. I will definitely be returning!
Sal’s is a local gem known for its delicious Italian cannolis and other baked treats. Although Sal is moving on to another well-known Italian bakery, Nonni's, in Southington, Connecticut, Plainville is in good hands with Nella Lastrina, the new owner in training. She is learning all of Sal's fantastic Italian dessert recipes. Best of luck, Nella! And enjoy your retirement, Sal! Plainville loves you!
Great mother and pop bakery. everything is fresh and cheap.
I went here because I wanted to bring cupcakes to a sick friend. There were none in the case. It was last Christmas and I was hoping for some pretty decorations. The woman acted like cupcakes were beneath her. She said there were some in the back. I asked to see them and again she acted like I was asking for something inappropriate. I asked if they could be decorated and she snickered. She put sugar on them. They were not even good and honestly I would have walked out if we were not in a hurry. We were also the only people there. I can see why and we won’t go back.
