Sushi Sakana - Plano

During our visit to the area to see family, we decided to try this restaurant. We were promptly greeted and seated. The restaurant was clean, including the restrooms. We ordered several rolls: the Love Love Roll, Geisha Roll, Butterfly Kiss Roll, and Green Hulk. The Love Love Roll was our favorite. The service was excellent, and overall, this was the best sushi restaurant we've experienced. We’re looking forward to coming back the next time we’re in town!

This week, we visited Sushi Sakana in Plano for some sushi. Situated in a shopping center off Custer, we were very pleased with our experience! We went in around lunchtime, and it wasn't crowded at all. We began with miso soup, followed by salmon and eel sushi (two pieces each). We also ordered a Dragon Roll, New York Roll, Geisha Roll, and Sakura Roll. The sushi was fantastic! Our favorite was the Geisha Roll, which was wrapped in salmon, but every roll was delicious! The flavors were wonderful, and the eel sauce was just right. The staff was incredibly friendly, making for an excellent sushi experience overall.

The restaurant was packed on a Thursday night at 8 PM, which is always a good sign for a sushi place—it usually means the sushi is fresh and delicious. This was some of the best sushi I've had in Dallas! The flavors were fantastic, featuring creative combinations and beautiful presentation.

We started with California crab rolls, which are quite basic but often serve as a good indicator of the chef's skill and the quality of the ingredients. Most places leave me underwhelmed, but I was genuinely surprised by how flavorful this simple roll was. It left me momentarily shocked at just how good it was. This got me excited for the other rolls we’d ordered: the Crunchy roll, Supershrimpy, and I opted for two Tiger rolls. Let me just say, I want more! The flavors of these rolls are unmatched by anything I've experienced in Plano so far. It felt like I was enjoying sushi created by a master chef who truly cares about using quality ingredients and preparing them with the intent to deliver a delightful experience for your taste buds. Then I tried the Tiger rolls, which were not what I expected, but that turned out to be a nice surprise. They were warm and crispy from being fried—perhaps I missed that detail in the description. Honestly, I didn’t mind at all! They were so delicious that they disappeared before I even realized it. I can’t emphasize enough: this is the best sushi in Plano. If you think you’ve had better, I challenge you to come here and leave disappointed. This place exceeded all my expectations. I can’t put into words how amazing it is. From now on, I won’t be eating sushi anywhere else. Plus, I just found out they deliver via Grubhub, which could be a dangerous temptation for my wallet!

This place is fantastic! Almost everything on the menu is incredible. I've been coming here for years, and the owner always takes the time to greet me, shake my hand, ask about my family, and make sure we're enjoying our meal! They even prepare some off-menu items for me! The atmosphere is wonderful for everyone, and the food is superb!
