Yama Izakaya Sushi - Plano

I like this place. Eating is good. We ordered Salmon sashimi (5 stars), Shishito (4 stars), Tonkatsu Ramen (5 stars), Wagyu on the rocks (5 stars), Hawaii roll (3 stars), 3 of a kind of roll (3 stars). I expected to dive more taste or sauce on them-had in soy sauce for taste. Service is excellent! Five stars. They're picking up garbage and empty dishes from the table, not just at the end. Environment is great! Five stars.

Ramen was the main draw for our visit, and the chicken ramen did not disappoint; the broth was excellent, and the bamboo shoots were decent. Overall, I'd rate the ramen a 3 out of 5. Opting for chicken instead of pork wasn't the best choice. However, the fried chicken was fantastic, and I loved the accompanying sauce. That was definitely a highlight!

Have you visited this restaurant multiple times? The customer service here is exceptional, and unlike other Yama restaurants, they do not expect tips from their customers. It might sound a bit odd, but I personally prefer enjoying Japanese cuisine prepared by Japanese chefs, and this place certainly delivers. I highly recommend this Yama restaurant over the others! We enjoy coming here to sample a variety of dishes. Tonight, we tried the skewers, soft-shell crab, and shrimp tempura. Each dish was delicious in its own unique way—spicy, fresh, and more. The staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere of the place is fantastic.

Been coming here for years, foods always delicious, wait staff is always kind, timely and suggestive. My go to late nights spot. Atmosphere has traditional Japanese vibes. Not even a sushi fan, but I eat sushi here. The bar side is dimly lit and the music is better on the bar side. All together, love this place.
