Vanders Keep - Pleasant Grove

Excellent food and service despite how busy they were. I loved it and can’t wait to go again. It’s a great place.

It was fun once, but I was greatly disappointed with my shepherds pie.

Below average food selection and quality even for a tourist trap. While the environment is unique, Vanders Keep makes barely any effort to own its theme and location next to Evermore Park. Despite very friendly staff, this place isn’t worth the calories.

We really wanted to like it, but there are basics that Vander is missing. Expect to be seated 25 30 min after your reservation time this was explained at the front desk as normal. We had ordered off of the current menu from a QR Code, and the food didn't match what was on the menu. It was explained that there was an IT Glitch at the cause of different descriptions from the menu item, and they defended it. Generally, we expect to be served what is listed on the menu. Lastly, after waiting 45 minutes for food to arrive, some of it arrived cold. It was explained this was because the kitchen was some distance from the dining hall. Atmosphere is astounding, and the ambience pleasant. The food itself, when warm, is delicious. If they can master hospitality basics, it would be a more pleasant experience. Until then, this is a Nevermore experience.

Took us an hour to get our food. However, that was the problem for everyone. Turkey leg was so dry it was close to petrified. The decor and idea behind the restaurant is great however service and food was not good at all. There was no food coming out of the kitchen for a very long time.
