Masala Bay Grill, Indian Cuisine, Outer Banks

My friend and I went to this place on the way to Jockey's Ridge, and it was surprisingly good food!! We eat Indian food, so we decided to try. Would definitely come again!

This place is fantastic. The food was so good. I was in many Indian restaurants including in India and this one up here. Great portions, very nice staff and beautiful bay views. Very recommended.

Great views of the bay, very special Indian food.. Flavorful and yet not at all spicy.. ShyamSavera Kofta was my favorite!

During that phone call, which took place in the dining room, she was very rude. If I were that caller, I would have hung up in frustration. When the four of us needed more rice, I overheard her yelling at the kitchen staff that they didn’t need to give more if they wanted it. I asked for a container to take my rice home and mix it with the korma, and when she brought the container, she made a snarky remark about needing a larger one for my rice. We also ordered two separate naan orders, and when I mentioned they were separate, she made a comment that it was necessary for her to know. I understood her requirement, but her tone was inappropriate. I’m not sure if she was the owner or just an employee, but her attitude definitely impacted our experience. Fortunately, the fantastic food made up for her demeanor, but it still left a mark on our visit. One person in our group even commented that every time he visits, he can't tell if she's the owner or not. While we enjoyed the meal, we’ve decided that next time we’ll just order takeout. When I’m paying for a meal, I want a pleasant dining experience, not an attitude. As I write this, I’m happily enjoying my leftovers. Yum!
