The Cellar Restaurant - Pokolbin

The food is delicious as always & the staff are lovely. Cosy atmosphere & they have a great selection of wines as well.

Dined on a Thursday night with my wife and son. We only had appetites for main meals. My son and I both had duck confit-beautifully cooked and very tasty. As good as any I've had. My wife's slow cooked lamb shoulder was delectable. Accompaniments were a good match whilst providing interest. Expansive wine and beverage list. Service was good but there weren't a lot of diners.

I came here for a Saturday night dinner with my partner.We ordered entrees and mains and were not disappointed.The prawns for entree were succulent and the zucchini flowers were creamy on the inside (filled with delicious cheese) and light and crispy on the outside.The duck for main was decadent and rich and paired perfectly with a glass of pinot noir.I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a lovely dinner.

When we arrived there was only one other table occupied, but by the time we left there was hardly a table vacant. We were fortunate to obtain a table by the open fire. We started with six pieces of garlic sourdough bread. For mains we had the beautifully well presented and tasty duck confit and the melt-in-your-mouth 8 hours slow braised Milly Hill lamb shoulder. Besides the quality of the food, one of the main reasons for a 5 rating is that we asked the waitress did we need to order as "side" and she gave us the very honest advice that our servings would be sufficient without having to have a side order - and she was right. To complement our lunch we chose the Cellar Restaurant Verdelho - perfectly adequate and most drinkable. Good food, great service, appealing venue.

Visited in July. Limited restaurants open around the area mid week and The Cellar was one of them. The restaurant caters for couples, small groups and as on our visit, large groups as well. Not sure of the service times if we had come later. We just has a small starter (sourdough bread and beetroot relish) and mains (pork cutlet, duck and a couple of sides - Brussel sprouts and cauliflower) - all meals were presented well and very tasty. Service was good and reasonably quick. As it also gets busy, best to book beforehand.All in all, nice location, good food good service.
