Gami Gedara - Polonnaruwa

This must be one of the best curries we were in sri lanka! it is the most beautiful environment, they can sit with a view of the paddy fields. there might have been 15 different authentic curries to try (I'm not ashamed to say I've tried. they were all and they were all divine . the dame (I didn't catch their names that cooked the currys/owns of the restaurant, insisted that we went back for more (it was set up like a buffet). it is an absolute must to visit if they want amazing sri lanka curries!

Our driver raja brought us to lunch in this local restaurant. difficult to find, from the road, to look over rice fields. but what a delicious food! they prepared at least 13 dishes and presented it with the original products before the bowl. they can see exactly what they eat. teller with lotus leaves, cheerful friendly people, great eating, with traditional desert cure cut off with honey. find it!

The place is little off to the main road. the concept of the restaurant is absolutely impressive. it is in front of the beautiful paddy field and all the kitchen were absolutely local taste. definitiw love foreigners this place. Eat is buffet type and all kitchens were so delicious. finally. Honey was so delicious. thanks for the owners.

This small, open, family-run restaurant is located in a rural neighborhood, at the end of a narrow gravel road, next to a rice paddy. According to the staff, rice and most vegetables were bought at home and organic, with all other ingredients on site. The food is served on lotus leaves so that waste is minimal. When I left, there were about 20 articles in the buffet and only 1 contained meat. I went to similar buffets during my stay in Sri Lanka, but I thought this one was the best. The place did not look like much, but each curry was rich in taste. on a lotus leaf, sitting by a rice paddy, that was good living.
