Bidra med feedbackDinner at Mrs. Wonderful reminds me of a place I ate in 2016 in the olive tree-covered hills above the city of Lucca Italy. I was in an Air BnB and there was only one restaurant just a few minutes walk open only on weekends. There was a cook, maybe just a few dishes to choose from, and everyone living in the surrounding hills eats there at least once a week. They all have their own chairs. It's like eating with family, even if you're not family, even if you're not from there. And Mama's cooking. You can not get all your food at the same time (another has complained about it), but what this is assured is that your dish is hot because it just cooked; it is not sitting under a heat lamp waiting for her to cook 6 other dishes! Your court is specially made for you! Just eat it when it comes to your table. We're all here. No one will be insulted when you eat yours while the next person is waiting for them. Portions are not huge, but it is plentiful. Sit back, taste, breathe between bites, chew your food, taste the amazing aromas, notice that the pasta is made perfect. Their pricing directly reflects their commitment to buying local and organic. They support local breeders. Mary Frances (Mama/Koch) and her daughter Diana are really a great team. Diana is an oenologist, runs the wine club of the house, has exquisite taste and a worldly selection of wine. She's also the house baker. She makes scenarios and gallets that you are pressed hard to find better! And she does it with a baby on her hip! The pastry is baked to perfection, from the freshest, locally marketed and organic ingredients every time they can find it. Real butter and cream, all the good fat that just melts in the mouth! And if you happen to catch in the house or chat with Papa Gino while making pizza on Wednesday night, consider yourself blessed. And hopefully it's over a bottle of fine red wine, which among other things gift items you can buy right there in the house. They have a large terrace and an intimate, naturally illuminated interior. It is a simple walk after dinner Passaggiata to the pristine Flathead Lake.
This place was amazing. We loved the food and the hospitality was great. Everything was homemade and tasted like it was freshly made as well. This spot should have 5 stars. I don’t normally review places on google but the owner (Mrs Wonderful) was so kind to us that I had to.
Mrs. Wonderfuls is a real gem if you’re in the Polson area. Coming from New York on a 3 week road trip we were headed up to glacier national park and stopped for breakfast. Never have I ever had a better biscuit for a breakfast sandwich and the red pepper aioli was an incredible compliment. The cinnamon roll was amazing as well. Mrs. Wonderful is a great business owner, she makes everything from scratch and genuinely cares about each and customer. Anyone passing through the area should make this a stop on their route, do not miss out on a chance to try this amazing food and support a small, local woman-owned business!
Born and raised in Montana and glad to be back. We recently moved to the area from Texas and when asking anyone we’ve encountered where we could find a healthy, organic, farm to table restaurant we were referred to Mrs. Wonderfuls Cafe. Not only is this place EXCEPTIONALLY WONDERFUL, the owner, Mary Frances goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and is genuinely interested in her patrons. The staff was on point and the food was beautifully delicious. This has been our go to spot in Polson and we will highly recommend Mrs. Wonderfuls to anyone and everyone! They also retail fabulous wine and international beers! BONUS
Finally found real pizza in Polson! Very friendly staff, great atmosphere, and the pizza was so darn good. Oh and the fresh scones, yeah, go ahead and treat yourself, you won’t be disappointed!
