Bidra med feedbackThe sweet salad is absolutely delicious. Fresh green, tomatoes, radish, onions, a bit of bacon and chicken warm from the grill. I had stopped in rye to load my car on the nearby Marriott. The bistro at the Marriott is closed. I went down the street and ordered this salad. I realized I left my wallet in the car. I mentioned this to the owner who said in broken English “no worries, Pay me some other time”. Such goodness. In a few minutes. And I mentioned the salad is delicious! I will make this little place a regular stop on my long trip from Boston to Maryland
Absolutely my favorite restaurant now. You gotta try the pork tacos
Small place but really good food! The owner was very nice, we got the chapin, breakfast sandwich and steak and eggs and it was all really good.
Small cafe with very tasty food. Claudio (owner) was more than happy to make a healthy dinner for me, including a California dinner salad with chicken and a plate of sauteed veggies, which were cooked perfectly. Overall Avery nice experience and very reasonable prices!
This unassuming café on Midland Avenue offers a delicious and cozy spot for a hearty breakfast with a unique twist. We settled at one of the open tables beneath the regular seating area. Coffee was promptly served, although there was also a self-serve option available. My spouse inquired about vegetarian choices and opted for an omelet, while I decided to try one of the house specialties—a dish called chapin. It included two eggs cooked over-easy, warm soft tortillas, a square of white cheese, some crema fresca/sour cream, a cup of black beans, and fried plantains. The plantains were perfectly caramelized, bursting with sweet, fresh flavor straight from the hot pan. I combined everything on my plate for some truly delightful bites I had never experienced before. We also attempted to practice our Spanish while watching a morning show on the nearby TV. What more could we ask for? Don’t be deceived by the humble decor— the hostess was warm and welcoming, and the food alone makes this a worthwhile stop if you’re in the area. It's the kind of small, neighborhood diner that truly helps keep this vast country thriving.
