Bidra med feedbackFresh sushi, very friendly service that twice I went to this restaurant, the chef who is also the owner of the restaurant took the time to chat with us as well as other customers. A hidden gem with creative and authentic Japanese dishes. Better yet, the dishes are not over priced. In my opinion, everyone should visit this restaurant at least once.
Amazing sushi joint hidden in Coquitlam. Their rolls are on par with every other sushi place but their sashimi is what makes this restaurant outstanding (especially the sockeye salmon). Enjoyed all their rolls and the sashimi which just melted in your mouth and it doesn't get fresher than that. On top of it the presentation was excellent. Definitely a must try if you are in the area.
Every Feb Mar, I always enjoy the special menu of Taste of Tri Cities event. KOSHO Japanese restaurant offer reasonable prices and a good menu selection. Exploring different restaurants and their unique offerings during such events can be a fantastic way to discover new culinary experiences and support local businesses. Taste of the Tri Cities Menu $35 Miso soup I found it a tad salty, but I enjoyed it. Seaweed salad Very decent. California taco truffle prawn tempura The sushi taco was good, and the tempura was crispy and also very delicious. Oyster motoyaki salmon oshi The Salmon Oshi was decent. The Oyster Motoyaki was a bit far from my liking. I prefer a bit more creamy texture. Your choice of 1 main: Japanese chirashi 5pcs Spicy chirashi Nigiri sushi 5pcs Sashimi 6pcs Crispy chicken donburi Unagi donburi Yakisoba chicken of beef I picked Japanese Chirashi, and my partner chose Sashimi. The presentation of the Sashimi was fantastic. The Chirashi was decent. Ice cream yuzu black sesame matcha We picked Matcha and Black Sesame ice cream. I prefer Black Sesame; its flavor was strong. The Matcha flavor was a bit subtle; however, it 's okay. Overall, I highly recommend KOSHO restaurant, especially the Taste of Tri Cities deal; it 's great. I will visit this restaurant to try a different menu next time.
Kosho Sushi has the best... and I mean, THE BEST sushi in Port Coquitlam/Coquitlam area. The fish is fresh and tasty, and I love their specialty rolls as well. Lemon tuna roll is to DIE for (warning: contains pine nuts!!! . Not many people seem to think that it 's worth it to drive out to the 'burbs for sushi, but this place is 1000% worth the drive. It 's a cozy, homey, nondescript sushi place, but it 's just so fantastic. Frank the chef is incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming, a true culinary genius, seriously. His staff are also very efficient, friendly, and will make you feel warm and welcome. If you 're in the area, or if you 're reading this and debating whether to take the chance or not let this be a sign!!!! SO. WORTH. IT.
I would rate this a solid 4 star. I will definitely come back. First, there are a lot of creative dishes here and kudos to the chef for the taco themed sushi. Ironically, this place is next to an authetic taco place : I really enoyed both the spicy and regular chirashi don lots of fresh sashimi and lots of variety. It is a great value I think. The BC roll was nothing special but I liked the chopped scallop tacos and aburi which was perfectly grilled and salted! The tako sunomono was ok but they gave a lot. The chwanmushi had a lot of stuff in it big piece of shrimp, spinach and shittake mushroom. I personally liked it but it does not have the traditional egg custard taste also not as soft and creamy as other places I tried. Overall, a solid place to revisit.
