Bidra med feedbackCafe la playa is a small Spanish restaurant it is like you are going into someones home. The food is fantastic with parts of our party having Spanish connections thru family or travel all being very impressed. We went here to celebrate a birthday group of about 16 or so. We preordered a number of dishes to share. The meals are tasty and fresh. You should order the paella together with the tortia my favourite but seriously every dish we sampled was tasty.Paul
Wonderful home style cooking in the Spanish way, we had a variety of tapas and they were very good. The service was a bit slow and the restaurant can be noisy, however it's worth the wait. The flan for dessert was excellent!
Visited with friends about people Ordered a range of dishes for me the tortilla, prawns, octopus and paella stood out but all very delicious. Mussels, salads antipasti and service all good. Leanne & Paul
Coming from a spanish background we all love coming here, it is an experience just like eating at a families house and the food is authentic and delicious. There are some bad reviews on service and at an ordinary restaurant I would agree but this is a such a unique place and I woukd hate to see it change. Here are my tips below. The family that run their own place are fantastic, when you come here prepare to wait up to an hour for food, bring some wine relax and socialize with family and friends with this time.Imagine your family cooking for 100 people and your grandfather (no offence intended) taking orders because that's what happens here. Despite the chaos the family always have a big smile on their faces and seem to really love their job, over the years as customers we have learned that this family barely scrape it in finacially and are not interested in commercialization of their unique place. Keep this gem as it is please. We always have a great night here and plenty of laughs as we usually polish off a few bottles of red before our food arrives. If you want a great family night here bring some drinks and imagine being in spain there is no other place I've visited quite like this one.
We were there for a friends birthday. Fantastic seven course tapas with paella. What fantastic food! Couldn't eat it all, octopus was great, paella was really nice, so many dishes! Really friendly staff, will go back for sure. Wife doesn't really eat seafood so she was catered for nicely. One point off for noise. Get a lot of people in there an it is incredibly noisy. Need some soft wall furnishings etc to break up and absorb the sound
