Sharkys - Port Lincoln

Nice venue, but we waited 1hr and 20min for our food. Was not happy, they gave us a free drink for the wait, then one of the meals was just warm.

Recently ate here, all 3 of us got the steak special cooked medium although was lovely and pink inside the steak was dry and chewy not what would be expected of a medium steak there was no juice whatsoever.. not sure if they had tried to reverse sear it or was simply defrosted meat.. Staff where extremely friendly and accommodating. But would not recommend to eat there!

Decent enough bar, but the Boston pork pot pie was one of the worst I can ever remember eating. None of the advertised crackling, took ages to come out, had no pastry top just floating mash , some garden peas in a small pot, and super dry and grainy pork. They did offer a free drink for the tardiness.

Unfortunately didn’t get to eat there. Booked a booth on the 4th of October for 6 upon arrival only 3 people could eat there comfortably. Attempted to book again on the 5th of October for 3 people and was advised that they need a minimum of 4 people to book. Such a pity as we were staying at the Port Lincoln hotel If I could score no stars I would.

The Port Lincoln Hotel total experience was very poor. Firstly we were left on hold (phone for 10 minutes before we hung up. I then went down there in person the book a table for an evening meal with friends. The senior person who I was refered to was not interested in me and basically dismissed me to a junior person. Ok so booked a table near the door in the casual dining area. All good or so I thought. We arrived on time (6:30 p.m. but the musicians. They were not playing but had their gear spread across our table. So no table and no effort to find one. This is how we then moved from the dining room to Sharkys. A pleasant person greeted us and found a great table. Ordered our meal which was somewhat expensive, however it was tasty. The main meal turned up while we were still eating entree... Then a hour after our main meal I had to enquire about our desert. They had forgotten in. They had to ask what we had ordered... Desert was very nice. Drinks were expensive, $30 to $40 per round of three or 4 drinks each time and one of the drinks was non-alcoholic (soda and lime . Overall a disappointing a relatively expensive experience for what would be best described good pub food. Needless to say we will not visit there again.
