Barnacle Bill - Port Pirie

First of all, what struck us was that this Barnacle Bills is in a Church. Holy smoke!! Excellent service. Food was good as well. We sat in and ate and watched people come and go. Very popular eatery.

We all know Barnacle Bills, what you expect, the types of food, the menu etc etc as it is a franchise. I have it lots, from different places in Regional SA and metro. Even though it is a franchise and they all cook to pre determined formulas etc they still have their little touch. Over or under cooked, good or bad service, atmosphere, cleanliness of the place and so on. Port Pirie's Barnacle Bill rates as my favourite franchise, food is consistently cooked really well (not over or under done) and the staff are always friendly. The last time I ordered, they even threw in an extra fillet, reminded me of the old fashioned fish and chip shops with an extra prawn or fillet. Recommended.

Fish meal was excellent. Good wine and great salad bar. Set in renovated church it had an unusual atmosphere. Most enjoyable.

Excellent service and food, salad bar is a delight and they even sell alcohol. Staff are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble
