Taqueria Alma Latina - Porter

The restaurant features a lovely bar and an outdoor area that’s perfect for enjoying a meal or drink. The outdoor seating is spacious, and they often host events for sports on weekends, creating a lively atmosphere. The menu offers a wide range of delicious food and drink options. I frequently order the fajitas, which are fantastic, and the rice is exceptional. We also tried the carne guisada, and it was good. I really liked the tortas, although they don’t always have the specific ones I want. My wife ordered the caldo de res, which was hearty and filled with vegetables and generous portions of meat. I do have one complaint: the shrimp cocktail. For its price, it had far too few shrimp—only 10 or 12—which was disappointing, especially when other places overflow theirs. I wouldn’t recommend that dish. Typically, the service is good, but since we go often, we try to request our favorite waitress, who is excellent. One of my must-have items is their green salsa, which isn’t served automatically, so make sure to ask for it. If you're in the Humble/Porter area, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit!

This restaurant really surpassed my expectations. My mom took me there, as I probably wouldn’t have gone on my own. I ordered the carne guisada, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive, and they served delicious fluffy rice as well.

One thing to note is that the menu only lists the names of the dishes without any descriptions, so we had to look up pictures on Google to show the waitress what we wanted. The food arrived about 15 minutes later and was quite good overall. The meat was a bit salty, but it tasted fine when paired with rice and tortillas. I'm not sure if I'd return, but it’s definitely worth a visit if you haven't been here before.

That day my friend and I went to Alma Latina for drinks. We started with Strawberry Frozen Margaritas, who were very tasteful n delish. I also had a favorite of me a can XX rita. We sat outside to enjoy the cool breeze. When the night passed, they had a DJ coming to entertain the families food and drink. The staff was friendly and appropriate. We had a great time.

We love Alma Latina. Food is always good. Staff is attentive. We like to sit outside and enjoy the bands on Fridays.
