Gilley's Diner - Portsmouth

I've been wanting to try this place for quite a while, and it has a really charming atmosphere. We ordered cheeseburgers and cheese fries, and the staff were very friendly. While we found the burgers to be on the smaller side, they were quite tasty overall. However, the cheese sauce was somewhat lackluster and didn't sit well in my stomach. I was also disappointed to find that they didn't offer milkshakes; I've never been to a burger joint that didn't have them. Overall, if you're looking for something quick and affordable and are tired of McDonald's, this is definitely a place worth checking out.

This place wasn't terrible. The burgers were tasty, but the fries were soggy and needed more salt. While I've heard positive things from locals, it didn't quite live up to the hype. We encountered two issues with our order: one cheeseburger was missing the bacon we requested, and we received one less cheeseburger than we ordered. They added the bacon after we pointed it out, but we ended up waiting for the missing cheeseburger, which arrived after everyone else had nearly finished their meals. If we decide to go back, we should definitely try the hot dogs and nachos!

Perfectly steamed hot dogs just as they should be! Topped with celery salt and Tabasco, they are fantastic!

Love the food and the hometown feel. The service was great. The dogs we re huge. The burgers were juicy.
