Bidra med feedbackThis historic pub in Portsmouth is the second oldest in town and is definitely a standout. The breakfast was delicious and filling. The room is on the small side and has some issues with electricity and plumbing, but that's to be expected in a building that is 300 years old. The wifi connection is reliable. The staff are professional. I may not choose to stay here again, but I'm grateful for the experience.
We were a group of old school friends who hadn't been able to visit The George in years. We were greeted warmly and with a sense of humor. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. We hope to come back soon.
We popped in for an evening meal on our last night in Portsmouth. Although it looks like a totally normal, old-style pub, the food really was excellent, the landlady and her staff really welcoming and the customers genuinely friendly and good company. An unexpected gem.
Says it all really. Nice place all round. breakfasts were good and so was the evening meal. Chef is available and talkative. Waiting staff did their job. Pity we had a rowdy table near by. But you cannot blame the pub for that, we were...all young once!
Fantastic find staff amazing went well and truly out of there way for our wedding anniversary. Sarah and Darren so lovely and friendly we popped to the alchemist had a quick drink and came straight back . Thankyou for everything .
