Bidra med feedbackMy favorite place to stop for ice cream with the family.
My kids demanded I drive across NY from Vermont on our way home to Ottawa to stop at Scoops for waffle cones with strawberry and chocolate. They loved it! Happy kids makes for an easy drive. They were also kind enough to verify that the hard ice cream at the time has no carageenan, so no headaches for me, awesome!
Cute spot in downtown Potsdam, across the street from Ives Park. Good selection, good value.
Who doesn't enjoy a soft serve on a hot summer evening? This is our favorite spot for a cone or a small sundae during the summer months. It's open seasonally and offers a typical selection of soft serve and hard ice cream. I particularly love their peanut butter topping for sundaes—it's delicious! It might take them some time at the start of the summer to find their rhythm, so be patient. I also recommend sticking to the menu when ordering, as customizing can lead to some inconsistent pricing.
The ice cream was really good! However, there are some downsides. The doggy dishes are surprisingly small compared to other ice cream shops; they’re about the size of a condiment cup you might get at a restaurant. I received the doggy dish first, but it ended up taking longer than expected to prepare my sundae. As a result, the doggy dish melted all over because of its small size and the warm temperatures. It might be a good idea to prepare the longer-lasting desserts first. Overall, it’s a charming little shop, and I would definitely stop by again when I'm in the area!
