Tavern 23 - Poughkeepsie

My fiancé and I were visiting from Pittsburgh and chose Tavern 23 for dinner. We were not disappointed! The drinks were fantastic, the hospitality was wonderful, the patio was beautiful, and the food was outstanding. I highly recommend this place! If we ever return to the area, we will definitely be back!

This is a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy some delicious food. It's a popular choice among the locals, especially with its lovely outdoor patio dining area—perfect for nice weather! The shrimp chips are absolutely delectable. The food is consistently delicious, too. I tried the Valley Days Salted Watermelon Cider from Hudson North Cider Co. in Newburgh, NY, and it was amazing! They have a rotating draft menu, but I always find a tasty beverage to enjoy, and this one was just perfect on a hot summer day. A big shoutout to the chef and the outstanding wait staff for creating such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere!

This hidden gem in Poughkeepsie is an incredible discovery. You should definitely check it out! The menu is the most innovative and delicious I’ve seen in a long time. Everything is done to perfection here. The service and staff are truly exceptional. With both indoor and outdoor seating, they can accommodate almost any size group, and the decor has a cozy, inviting atmosphere. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Make sure to call ahead or just drop in for a delicious appetizer and a fantastic glass of wine.

We had a fantastic dining experience! My husband ordered the steak, and we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. I chose the Reuben, which was also quite tasty!

I absolutely love the Tavern! The only thing that rivals the fantastic food and music is the outstanding wait staff! Right now, I'm sitting at the bar, enjoying the best wings around (they haven’t increased their prices despite the fact that wings have tripled in cost during this ongoing pandemic) and a generous glass of Chardonnay. A particularly rude patron was giving Zoe a hard time, but she, along with all the staff, could easily give a TED Talk on how to treat customers. The owner should be very proud of how Zoe handled the situation. This place truly ROCKS!
