Bidra med feedbackCan’t beat the view. One of the best view to have lunch or dinner. They do set menu and you can choose from Lomo, steak, chicken or salmon. It comes with side dish, soup and dessert. Soup and dessert are prepared in advance and serve you fast. Service is okay considering we visited twice during dinner time and there is only one staff serving a few tables. Lomo is a bit hard to chew. Steak is over cook which is hard to chew too. Not enough flavor in our main course. It is expensive no matter where you eat in the national park. It will cost you 22k-24k per person.
This is another casualty of Covid, we were well recommended to dine on this place, however when we arrived we learned that the owner would not open the restaurant for this season. Same comment we heard in a few places. The number of people need to operate is big, and the uncertainty to operate to lockdown based on number of cases that change every week, makes it unviable. However there was a store that you could by a few things.
Best camping in the park amazing views of the massif, fresh water, hot showers, protected from wind, close to the ferry not far from Central, convenience store with sweets and essentials, free wifi for calling home, and armadillos and eagles tricking campers to steal food at every opportunity. We started at Serrano, which was cozy, but were happy to pay the 2000CLP more for Pehoe fantastic experience!
Basic food which tastes horrible. We used the place to use the restroom and bought coffee and chips.
The main issue we had in this campsite are the no longer wild life. Seeing rabbits and mice in the campground we left the food inside our tent for the day. An ARMADILLO ate through our tent and got the bread. We therefore hung the rest of our food during the night just to find out that the mice were able to climb and reach it, chewing through it all. For the steep price this place charges it should 1. Warn visitors in advance, 2. Provide food protecting infrastructure for campers with no car. The staff was nice but helpless and gave us 4 buns which was hardly enough given the ridiculous prices food is selling for in the park and the amount of food that we lost. Other than that the place has excellent warm water supply and good wind/rain protection for tents. No internet and no common refuge/kitchen, but excellent views of the Torres in good weather.
