Firstly, the restaurant was very clean—no more peanuts scattered on the tables, chairs, or floor. While it may be nice for some, the lively atmosphere created by patrons and their dogs is missing when everything is so pristine (although their pictures might look nicer!). I was told that the cleanliness was a response to complaints about allergens and the need for a tidier environment for those with peanut allergies. I sympathize, as my wife has severe allergies to peanuts, soy, and legumes, and we understand the concern. However, we've never had issues in the past! Next, there were problems with the service, particularly timing and food temperature. The drinks, like the Mandarin Ale and Seeing Eye Dog Cocktail, were ice-cold and well-prepared, which was great. However, it’s not acceptable to serve the main course while the appetizers are still hardly touched! Additionally, both of our soups—the tomato bisque and beer cheese soup—arrived cold (not lukewarm, but actually cold). They should be served hot! The only highlight was the Jalapeno Chili Poppers, which were deliciously hot, although they could use a bit more spice. Unfortunately, our main courses didn't fare any better. The bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich and the Turkey Avocado Melt were both lukewarm at best (only my fries were hot). To make matters worse, my wife's Sweet Potato Fries were not only cold but still undercooked. Come on, guys! We know you can do better. We've experienced your wonderful kindness, excellent service, and fantastic food, which is why we keep returning with excitement. After this visit, though, I’m left wondering when we might come back. I sincerely hope this was just a one-time issue!
