Unterhof Alm - Radstadt

A great restaurant with excellent views from the terrace, great food and helpful service from staff with good English, better than my German! After a walk up the hill we found the bus, a lift up and walk down, the way skiers do it!

My Fiancé and I got married in Filzmoos on the 24th April 2014 we had our reception in the Unterhof Alm. We had a horse ride up through the trees from the village and the views were spectacular. We had a brilliant day, the venue...is perfect it looked lovely and everything went very smooth. We had 46 guest and everyone enjoyed it immensely. The food and service couldn’t have been better. We had Jagabuam as our wedding band, they were very lively and keep the craic going late into the night. Our wedding planner was Ingrid Eibl from Panorama Tours and Travel, Ingrid was very professional and helpful and thanks to her we had such a perfect day. We would highly recommend Ingrid and the Unterhof for a perfect wedding in Austria.

300 year old cabin up in the valley above Filzmoos.Excellent food and incredible atmosphere.We got the horse sleigh up, in the evening through the snowy forest. It takes about an hour and was genuinely magical. The sleighs can be organised through various hotels. We tried to get Hotel Hammerhof where were were staying to take their sleigh, but were advised it would be $120 for just us, or we could share with others for $20 which is what we did. You can get taxis up and i think Unterhof have their own minibus too.

The restaurant can be reached by either horse carridges, which can be booked in the village at 'Fiakerhof', by footwalk (approximately 100 minutes) or by taxi. The air is fresh and healthy, herds of deers and chamois live in their natural habbitat and can be observed at the edges of the forrest on the way or at the opening of the steep slopes. The restaurant is the upper of the two which lie at the foot of a mountain chain that ends right at the destination. It boasts a terrace wich invites to enjoy the beautiful view and take a sunbath as well as a playground for children. Inside, the interior consists of traditional handcrafts which also relate to hunting and landscape pictures. An open fire place warms nicely and rounds up the warm and comfortable atmosphere. We had deer and fish which both tasted great. Service was helpful and attentive.

Nice restaurant in the middle of the mountains at the foot of the Bischofsmutze. The nicest thing is to go there by horse-drawn sleigh. Food is good and they use (partially) their home grown ingredients. On some days they have live music.
