Bidra med feedbackI've never been to this restaurant but have only had good things and very cool hip spot to eat
Food smelled good waited 1 hour for drinks with several other groups. Other 3 groups didn't wait.
We tried the new location a couple of weeks ago, and if possible, it was even worse when we tried them on Gorham St. Still the same boring lackluster BBQ, no smoke flavor, over sweet bottled BBQ sauce. String french fries should be banned in restaurants! For gods sake, get some real fries with skin or at least steak fries. It also didn 't help that they arrived after our food was finished. Service was pitiful, slow, yet only 2 other couples in there. The owner is very sweet and friendly, and if you are a friend or a regular, you really get the friendliness piled on. And the brew part of your name is a joke. Either get some taps for decent draft beer, or at least make sure the cans and bottle you serve are not old skunked beer! Never again!
This place is absolutely wonderful, great food and very sweet staff. We got the 2 meat 2 side combo (fried chicken, pulled pork, fries, and mac&cheese) and 1 meat and 1 side combo (ribs and potato salad) I highly recommend the ribs if you just choose 1 meat. Only fall off the bone tender type of ribs here. And the potato salad was my favorite side, creamy and delicious! All in all, the owner is very sweet and had a very good experience here. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area and want a hearty meal!
Came here for the first time for dinner on a weeknight. Hubby and I ordered their fried pickles appetizer, smoked ribs meal platter with a side of collard greens, the 2 meat combo (smoked sausage and pulled pork) with sides of mac n cheese and sweet fries, and 2 drinks of strawberry lemonade and spicy jalapeño margarita. Total came out to $90, without tip. What's Hot Quality. Delish! Their fried pickles appetizer are the best we've had in quite a while. They were so good that we didn't dip them in the buttermilk ranch dressing that came with it. The fried pickles were fresh, not greasy, and the batter was thin and crispy. Hubby loved their bbq sauce. It was slightly sweet with a spicy kick. Their pulled pork was moist, tender, and had a slight mustardy tang at the end. This is the first time hubby and I have come across sweet potato fries that are drizzled in maple syrup. Hubby said the maple syrup made the fries more consumable. Haha.... Portions. Pretty good portions, especially for what you pay. Good value for money. We definitely left full and satisfied. Price. Pretty reasonable, especially given the quality of the food and the portions. Had hubby and I not ordered the drinks, our total would've been between $60 $70, which is reasonable for a dinner for two. Layout. Pretty good layout there's a small bar at the front and plenty of seating in the restaurant. The seating accommodates small and large groups. Eco friendly. They don't have printed menus it's online. Each table has a little stand with a QR code, which you scan and will bring up the menu. They have a roll of paper towels at each table. They don't print out your receipts. You can see they're taking steps that are more environmentally friendly, which is great. Service. Wonderful service! Everything was timely and their staff are super nice. Hubby and I enjoyed their fried pickles appetizer so much, that I asked the waitress for tips as to how to improve my air fryer pickles recipe. Specifically, I explained to her that I have a hard time making the batter stick. The waitress gave me some good tips, which I totally appreciate! What's Not Price. The smoked rib dinner is $24, 2 meat combo is $26, fried pickles appetizer is $12, and our drinks were approximately $12 each. Total came out to approximately $90 and before we paid, we weren't given a receipt to review the breakdown of our cost. To be fair, it was correct, but kind of annoying. Point is if you're going to order a full meal with drinks, appetizers, entrees, and dessert (which we didn't order), be prepared to pay a hefty amount. Quality. The food was delicious, but we've had better bbq. Unfortunately, there aren't many BBQ choices in this area. My smoked ribs were a little dry and were more riblets than actual ribs. Because they were more like riblets, the meat is not so thick and wasn't as tender and juicy. I had to use my knife to cut through the meat a bit more than what I'm accustomed. The rib meat was not fall off the bone tender. Hubby's sausage was a little overly cooked, as well. It looked slightly charred. There doesn't appear to be a selection of different bbq sauces. While we were given a cup of bbq sauce with our meal, which was good, there weren't options of different bbq sauces at the table. It appears there is only 1 sauce. Parking. Given it's location, it's not easy finding parking in the area. There is definitely parking in the area, but it's all paid parking. What was frustrating was that some of the parking lots we found appeared to be private parking lots, which might require a parking pass. My point be prepared to walk. Eco friendly. While they're taking steps to be environmentally friendly, there are also steps not eco friendly. For example, all their tables have disposable plastic utensils. They also provide bottled water, rather than just providing reusable cups for water. They also have disposable straws at the table. They use plastic containers for their side dishes, rather than using reusable glass dishes. Online menu. You can order online, but be prepared to call in to check on certain menu items. For example, when hubby and I looked at their online ordering option, we saw their wings, sweet fries, and ribs were not available. I had to call to confirm whether they were out and the staff said they have everything on their menu. Also, they don't have brisket. From what we heard from other locals and the pictures on Yelp, it looks like brisket is sometimes offered. When we asked the waitress if they have brisket, she said they don't currently have it. So maybe some of their menu might be seasonal? Final Answer Definitely willing to come back, but would be mindful of time during the day and how much to order.
