Shanghai Express - Raleigh

Clear Soup was okay, its redeeming feature was the amount for the price. The Beef with Broccoli was very good, the beef is super tender and has a good mixture of all vegetables and meat. Will def get again. The Sweet and Sour Chicken (Qt) was not great, i probably wont order that again. It was just plainly fried chicken nuggets in tempura breading. The Chinese Donuts were delicious and I will def be getting that again.

Sesame chicken was alright, but sauce was very runny and thin. Wanted a thicker sauce.

The portion sizes are quite generous, but unfortunately, the flavors and textures are lacking. The sesame chicken was mushy on the outside, and the chicken itself was very dry. The fried rice that came with the meal was simply brown rice and lacked any flavor. On a positive note, the House Special Fried Rice was enjoyable, and I found the egg roll to be tasty. However, I don't think I will be ordering from this restaurant again.

I received my meal without any soy sauce or condiments, which was disappointing. The chicken entree had an odd flavor that made it taste as if it had been cooked with fish. The soup was decent, but overall, I wouldn't choose to order from here again.

The Sweet and Sour Chicken was overcooked, and there was a poor ratio of chicken to filler. However, the Steamed Dumplings were quite good. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.
