Bidra med feedbackThe Peanut Bar has been at its current location since 1935, and it’s easy to see why it has endured for so long. The food is fantastic, the service is excellent, and the place has a wonderful character. Don’t let the windowless exterior deter you; it’s definitely worth stepping inside, sitting at a table adorned with traditional checkered cloth, and indulging in a delightful range of classic and contemporary dishes.
The service and food were outstanding. Jillian was our server, and she was great. The schnitzel is absolutely amazing!
I visited the Peanut Bar to celebrate my birthday, and it was a wonderful experience. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, especially with the twinkling lights draped in the branches on the ceiling. The food was outstanding; I enjoyed the crab cakes accompanied by broccoli and a baked potato. The crab cake was perfectly cooked and topped with a delicious lemony hollandaise sauce, while the sides were also excellent. It was served with a generous salad that was just as tasty. Overall, the meal was unforgettable, and I look forward to returning to the Peanut Bar!
One Warm Welcome...not from the area, found this place open on a Monday night. I had no idea of its history or anything about the place. A timeless feel to the interior, warm wood character 50s charm, I could feel this place had a lot of history but didn 't realize a Reading PA celebrated legend. The bartender/owner my Server we 're kind, accommodating and very informative...a slower night. Served up with their menu with a narrative on the history of the establishment in a nutshell . The menu offered a nice variety from Seafood, Italian, German, Steaks, Burgers and much more. Seems like a Hot Spot with plenty going on, warm vibes, great peeps good food to serve up for generations to come!
One of the best experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. We came for a graduation celebration and were greeted with custom menus with the graduate's name. Sabrina brought such a sense of joy and passion to our table, and her recommendations were spot on for every course. The food coming out of the kitchen was easily a bright star in the Reading area, with each dish coming out perfectly. From wiener schnitzel to seared ahi tuna, there was not a disappointing bite throughout the meal. Desserts were a perfect complement to our entrees, and the touch of having the graduate's name written in chocolate was the attention to detail you rarely see these days. It's very easy to see why this restaurant has been around for 98 years, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it around for another 98.
