The Hope Tap - Reading

The staff at this restaurant were extremely rude. Before my family even had the chance to enter, we were stopped by staff who asked for our ID in a patronizing tone. This was the worst experience I have had at any Wetherspoon restaurant. I would not recommend this particular location.

I visited this restaurant on July 1st, 2023. I ordered the steak, but it came out cold. I informed the waiter, and he promptly replaced it with a warm one on July 2nd, 2023. However, the next day I experienced severe bathroom problems. I will leave it up to you to draw your own conclusions on that matter. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this establishment.

Yes, it is a decent pub, but unfortunately I witnessed people getting sick on the floor from drinking too much. This happened at 2pm on a Wednesday afternoon while people were having lunch. I don't understand why the bar staff didn't stop serving them when it was clear they had already had enough.

Bustling JD Whetherspoons with a little bit of drama. Good value tasty food and drink with no complaints. Service fulfilled with a smile but obviously will be a bit slow during busy periods. Good evening out rounded off with some delightful pitchers.....

This was a fabulous pub to go drinking at, with a vintage design from the frames, windows and backing of seats. The bar is well-presented and I had a sweet WKD Blue, sitting comfortably at a clean table!
