Smitty's Family Restaurant - Red Deer

We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and found that they had a buffet, it had lots of Breakfast items and they had started to bring out lunch items, I ate everything that I put on my plate it was all fresh and hot!! It was a fairly good price but it did not include a drink!! Coffee is $2:50 wouldn't it make sense to include a drink with the buffet!! I will go back again for this buffet! To the cooks and staff at this Smitty's great job!!

The restaurant is located in Gasoline Alley, just off highway 2 just outside Red Deer's city limits. A convenient stopping place when you are driving between Calgary and Edmonton as it is about half way between the two cities. We stopped there on a weekend morning for breakfast. I was expecting the usual breakfast menu but in fact there was also a breakfast buffet which is what I opted for in the end. The breakfast buffet had lots of variety, including a good range of fruits (I had a bowl of cut up fruit and some grapes, both excellent), etc. as well as the usual scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, etc. Two dishes that caught my eye were eggs benedict and potato casserole. Both were tasty and fresh.Prices were competitive - Breakfast buffet $13.99, coffee $2.99.Our server, Emily, was courteous, and friendly but not intrusive. There are lots of restaurant choices for breakfast on Gasoline Alley. I would definitely recommend Smitty's.

The service and food was very good! The knowledge of the server was the best we have had in years!! Service was great.

Friendly service and good food. Good place to meet up with friends and enjoy a get together. Nice during the summer time.

The menu is extensive. The breakfast buffet is fresh and of good quality. The restaurant was clean and bright. The staff were friendly.
