Gabrielle's - Redcar and Cleveland

I recently visited Gabrielle’s in Redcar for the first time. The restaurant is charming, with tasteful decor and cleanliness. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. The desserts and ice creams were delicious, and I will definitely be returning if I find myself in the area again.

I suppose I will start by saying we're not a young couple and my wife just wanted a cup of tea on our lovely day out in Redcar, Me, I wanted a posh Milkshake! Anyway we called in here and were well impressed with the 60/ 70 American diner look and feel including the music! So we ordered a tea and a milkshake, the £7.99 milkshake (and yes it was £7.99! But I thought I would treat myself) was delivered to the table within a few minutes and looked fantastic in its large metal jug type container. But when I started drinking it with the straw from the bottom it was quite watery really, you could taste the milk but no salted caramel or ice-cream, so I headed for the top with the spoon and hit the large amount of squirty cream theat had a little trickle of ice cream topping sauce on in, I presume this was the salted caramel bit! Anyway after shifting the mass of squirty cream I cot to the ice creamy milk shake, unfortunately still not a nice creamy texture and not much flavour at all, it tasted like cheap ice cream that hadn't blended properly with the milk and was like lumps of ice. Maybe this is what modern Milkshake should be like but give me a MC Donald's shake over this any day! Loved the place but hated the shake unfortunately

Would not recommend going to planet kidz in Redcar (linked to Gabrielles) unless you want to be shouted at and spoken to like ****! Visited planet kidz and ordered a parmo for £7.50 when we received it, the parmo was burnt around the edges and a little tough to chew my child only managed 2 small strips from the middle , I decided to say something. To be told that’s just how they serve it here and and because he has eaten half they wouldn’t refund as that’s just not what they do. And the lady and gentleman both walked off, when I asked them not to walk off as I’m talking he shouted and said ‘how about you leave us to do what we do and go’ DO NOT GO IF YOU WANT RUBBISH FOOD. Before anyone says, it’s a soft play, I do not expect to pay £21 for food in total to have every dish have Atleast 1/2 or more of the food left! Someone on the table opposite waited 25 minutes for chips and curry cause to be told they’d made the curry wrong so would be a little longer and he said it’s fine stick gravy on instead. Two minutes later a bowl of chips with very watery curry was brought out. *update* Was offered a refund and voucher by a fake account. Spoke to the lady in the red top who told me this and also told me, that the two staff members shouting at me were the OWNERS! If you speak to customers like that, I wonder how you treat your staff!

This experience deserves a 0 start review the manager had a disgusting attitude!!!! Me and my family went out for some ice cream. We order to go and while I was eating I found BLACK hair inside my ice cream (am a blonde) I went back and asked for a refund because I felt ill after seeing hair inside my ice cream. The manager said she can’t give me a refund and gave a stupid reason why she couldn’t when I refused to get a replacement because seeing hair in your food is disgusting

Great place, amazing desserts. A welcome rest stop from the rain and cold. Great staff, Inside was bright, clean and fun . Also serves hot drinks and savoury snacks.
