Chicken Shack Churn Creek - Redding

The chicken wings were unbreaded and tasted more like they were baked than fried. The photo on the menu shows battered fried chicken, but that wasn't what we received. The crispy Brussels sprouts were actually soggy and seemed like they had been sitting out for a while; there was nothing crispy about them. When I brought up my concerns to the staff, he simply said, "I hear that a lot," and didn't offer any solution for the disappointing quality of the food.

I don’t think the two combo meals we ordered for $32.08 were worth the money. The first warning sign was when the cashier gave me the wrong change. I tried to brush it off since he looked young and it wasn’t a large amount. The second issue was that I specifically asked for the BBQ sandwich to be served on a bun instead of a waffle, but they just threw a waffle on it anyway. Both sandwiches were disappointing and lacked quality, especially considering the high prices. It seems like this KFC in Redding has been struggling lately and often runs out of chicken, which allows this restaurant to charge inflated prices for mediocre food. In hindsight, I should have left as soon as I walked in; it was 100 degrees inside at night and there were flies buzzing around. I suppose that’s why they have outdoor seating.

I usually enjoy Chicken Shack, but this is the third time I've received old, overcooked food. Some of the chicken tenders were so dry they resembled jerky. The carrots and celery looked like they had been sitting out since the night before; the celery was wilted, and I could almost bend the nearly dried-out carrots into a circle. It's disappointing because it's so obvious, and this should never have been served. I really hope the team at Chicken Shack takes this as a wake-up call and returns to their previous quality standards. I'm not ready to give up on them just yet, but if this continues, I'll be sure to take pictures next time.

This place is awesome. Very comfy establishment, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Large portions of food for a good price. Sharable. Highly recommend to people with late night munchies. Imagine fries topped with chicken and some bacon and cheese witha choice of gravy. Yum!

Some of the best chicken in town but BEWARE if you order online. We've done so I would say about 8 times in about 40% of them they forget something. A drink is forgivable. Half the order... not so much. High praise for the chicken. Redding food is sodismal that we were pleasantly surprised by this place. But just double check if you get it delivered, since unless you catch itright away you become flagged with x-Delivery service and won't be able to get money refunded after like the second try.
