Barron's Bistro - Redlynch

We had the antipasto for starters- excellent and great combo of tastes. Mains were pork belly, salt and pepper squid and salmon. All were lovely and would recommend them. The meals were all larger served than usual, but managed to eat it all.

Accidently went for State of Origin night. Food was great and the staff were busy but friendly. Kids are well catered for and meals were served promptly. Will return

Barron's bistro has two options for seating - on the railway platform (proper tables on a rail platform ie. undercover and outdoors) or in the old converted train carriages. Both seemed pretty cool to try. We opted for the platform. We were there for Friday dinner and they had a two man band playing music, which I loved! It really enhanced the relaxing atmosphere, as it wasn't too loud so you could still have a conversation. The waitress was very friendly but as the only staff member waiting the tables, sometimes it was hard to get her attention/find her. I ordered the steak and veg and was very happy with my meal. My plate was polished off. I really enjoyed the evening and would definitely recommend this bistro to anyone visiting cairns.

We sat in the front courtyard. A few bushes would be great to make it more protected from road noise. Food and service was great. We had the healthy breakfast and classic. Both very good. Best bacon. Staff were friendly and efficient. Prices very reasonable. Coffee was good as well. Good variety on the menu. Book of larger party on weekend. Looking forward to trying the dinner menu next time.

Barron's Bistro was the first to lift the quality of dining in the Freshwater district and people still love to come from further afield to enjoy dining here either on the railway platform, in the outdoor area or in the train carriages. This is not a gimmicky trick to divert from inferior food quality as you may find in some restaurants set in a quirky setting. Barron's is fabulous and you will not be disappointed.
