Bidra med feedbackMy husband and I just finished a wonderful dinner here. It was a last minute decision because this restaurant partners with open table and I did not want to wait on a Saturday night. Snagged a reservation and arrived after a 20 minute drive from my house. We were seated promptly. We had an excellent server. We decided to order and split 4 small plates including hummus, ceviche, chicken wings, and shrimp n grits. Each dish was so flavorful. My favorites were the ceviche and the shrimp n grits. One of my biggest complaints is that I can’t find “legit” shrimp n grits in the north. Well, that’s no longer true. This dish was insanely good. The grits were perfect. No longer do I have to travel to Savannah to find my favorite shrimp n grits. Big shout out to the chef for completely nailing this dish. Thank you all for a great dining experience. They can be so few and far between. I’ll be back before the season hits!
Our server, Stefano was excellent and the cozy ambiance was warm. This is not a large dining room so forget social distance. The appetizers we shared were the octopus and Brussel sprouts. The grilled octopus was very good. The sprouts were overpowered by the balsamic so we were disappointed with them. Our entrees were superb: halibut highly recommend!! , PEI mussels w shoestring fries, shrimp and grits , and lamb. The prices were the major reason we haven’t been back already but we will return.
The title sort of tells it all. Went there for Valentines dinner as it was recommended by friends. Enjoyed the food, it was well prepared portions were generous. Service was also helpful attentive. So why not 5 stars? Well, first the noise level. Rehoboth Beach is an old seaside town where many buildings are 100+ yrs old. So restaurants tend to be smaller, lower ceilings, etc. Not a problem until you cram 25 30 people in a smallish room...then just discussing what to order with your partner becomes a challenge. Not sure why more restaurateurs don't realize that for a small investment acoustics can be greatly improved. Next, the prices: a little higher than expected/warranted. I mean all mixed drinks: $15?, Shrimp grits $38? It's going to cost a couple $150 $160 (incl tip) for dinner a couple drinks. As basis for comparison we just got back from a couple weeks in Ft Lauderdale where similar restaurants were about 20% less. To conclude: good food, but don't expect a bargain try to go on a less crowded day/time when it might be quieter.
We are new to Shorebreak, but saw it in (of course) a Trip Advisor list. Very relaxed atmosphere, imaginative menu, our server , Stefano, was a gem… will be back!!
We live in Rehoboth Beach which is a small beach town with a large number of very good restaurants. Shorebreak Lodge is one of our favorites. It is very close to the beach and the food is excellent. We never had something that was less than great. The house wines are quite good and the wine list is excellent. Their happy hour is a real bargain and a real treat. Service always is very good. The owner is knowledgeable about wines and what works well in the kitchen. Top flight ingredients are standard in every dish. We like it here and go often.
