Bidra med feedbackGreat eating, must admit, was not much expected. this place is beautiful, warm, friendly and great pub-grub. portions are generous, neat cake with good gravure that were made home, all the puddings raved. the personal cannot praise enough.
We were here for a visit to the nearby lincs aviation heritage centre (less than 5 minutes) in the evening, had a wonderful steak and ale pier breakfast was generous and nice local products friendly service
Before we ordered drinks that were sitting outside, they looked nice from the outside. We ordered 2 steak and ale pies, but when they came, the chips were undercooked and the steak was tough. The cake was nice, but the baked was rock hard. Before we left, we noticed there were awfully dead flies and spiderwebs all over my partner, as well as in the toilets where there was water all over the floor and spiderwebs were not being cleared. Additionally, it was not pleasant to hear two young waiters badmouthing their coworkers, which added to the overall negative experience. What a shame.
The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere with a very friendly and welcoming staff. The building is beautiful and the menu is good. The food was excellent and there was nothing to complain about.
Stopped for Sunday lunch on the way to the East Coast, thankfully we had pre booked as they were full booked. When we got there. The Carvery lunch was one of the best we have had, with your choice of meat and trimmings being bought...to your table, with a selection of veg and extra gravy for you to serve yourselves. Not all of the tables were full, as I understand they do it in sittings, which makes it a much better eating experience for the diners as it is not overcrowded. People were being turned away when we left. Would definitely recommend, and would always try to book if possible to avoid disappointment.
