Bidra med feedbackTerrible service. The place looked half empty on a Friday night and I saw at least five servers working. I waited 15 minutes to be seated, multiple servers walking past me each time and even making eye contact. I had a reservation for six people, the table had five chairs. Once my party was seated we waited 30 minutes before ultimately getting up to get the menus from a server. Then we had to get up again to get someone to take our order. Then we waited an hour for hour food to arrive. Not once did anyone come to the table. Food was incredibly mediocre and not at all worth it. Terrible dining experience.
Went to this restaurant on the recommendation of our hotel and the food and service were terrible. We ordered three lamb entrees, a seafood chowder entree, two glasses of wine, one beer, and one diet soda and the bill was $185.00. When the entrees arrived they were cold and had to be sent back. The cut of lamb was super tough and barely provided four small bites, the pureed potato was about an 1/8 of a cup, and the seafood chowder had a strange aftertaste. The service was horrible overall and our server was borderline rude in his interaction. The prices in Iceland are HIGH to say the least and we expected that, but not cold food, rude staff, and a generally unwelcoming place. My recommendation is to steer clear of this place.
Great place to have a cocktail and dinner. They do well with the cocktail specials and offer a great variety. The food is amazing never liked Rye bread but here, in Iceland, Rye bread is like a dessert. The hamburger was disguising and I did not finish (I'm American so you can really go wrong here).
Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and pretty quiet and relaxing. At least at dinnertime. Probably more action closer to the night. Please try the lamb shank. Best I have had ever. Perfectly cooked. Usually and traditionally it is cooked very well done because in the old days they didn't have sous vide.
I made a reservation on the restaurant's website a week prior to our visit, as it was conveniently located in our hotel and had received positive reviews. Upon arrival, they had no record of my booking despite having an email confirmation with a reference number. The staff did not apologize for the confusion. We were only offered bar stool tables, which was not what we had in mind for our evening, but we decided to stay. We ordered the only vegetarian option on the menu, a vegetarian burger and fries, which was delicious although the portion size was a bit small for the price. We opted not to order cocktails as our mood had been dampened by the booking mix-up.
