Bidra med feedbackI must say that this is an incredible place for brunch/lunch. Each one of us ordered something else to try. I got the fried chicken sandwich and it was made *perfectly*. The outside was well encrusted and the inside melted into the mouth. The spicy was incredibly balanced as it was good, but not too spicy. I also tried some flavors of Parmesan truffleries (they were top-tier) and the chorizo burritos were for dying. I have the Oreo cake and a banana pudding for dessert. I usually don't eat so much, but given how good the whole food was, I wanted to try a little of everything. The server was also exceptional. It was cool to watch how it fits with our order to a T without ever writing a single word (except for a person who gets Hash Browns instead of points in a 5 group party). It had an amazing atmosphere. It had TV (surfing channel playing), but it wasn't on your face. It felt like a more relaxed and chilled bar atmosphere. The only real disadvantage was the price. Of course, this is expected from a restaurant upstairs, it was decently expensive. Overall, you would recommend trying this place if you are in the area
Ended up at this place by accident. My car was in the shop for repairs when the city shut the place down for a gas leak. Needed somewhere to spend a few hours. Glad I did! For the longest time I didn't even know this place was a Pub, but then you would not think it was given its unassuming strip small location. Walking in you are instantly transported out of Suburbia and into a very nicely furnished wood paneled bar and dining area. Staff were very attentive and polite, and happy hour goes from open to dinner time. Yay! I went basic and ordered the burger, and it was so good I had to take a picture. Excellent presentation, right amount of meat to bun and topping ratio, and the bun was delicious. All the little things that set great burgers apart from something you expect to find at a fast food joint. Even better, the fries were also delicious and not your generic frozen crinkled you would usually expect. Considering how busy the place was for lunch I can only conclude the other items were just as popular. Everyone around me seemed to have ordered a good mix, and the place was packed on a Thursday afternoon. Excellent establishment, with a keen attention for detail. It's the little things that set places apart. Even more tempting had it not been so early was their massive selection of whiskey. They have alot, and the discerning eye noticed a couple bottles that are hard to find. The owner of this establishment is clearly a man of culture and taste. My one minor gripe was that the music volume was a tad too loud for a Thursday afternoon lunch, but that is a gimme and probably a result of a staffer fat fingerings the button. 5 stars!
A classic RVA bar and grill with some fun options. A few items of note here and there but not a wow experience by any means. 2 entrees and 4 drinks ran us $90 with 20% tip. TLDR: If you want a clean and tasty bar experience with quality American fair and atmosphere not centered around TVs this is a good option. Tots, brussel sprouts, and the smoked old fashion are great. Solid choice for happy hour. It's good, but not our date night go to. We like to go there before escape rooms as Ravenchase. Food: It's classic Americana food options with small twists here and there. Nachos (most options honestly)are massive so be prepared. We've eaten here over a half dozen times. The food stands up to its price point for the most part. Never disappointed really. Apps: They come in large portions which is nice. An app and a drink here makes for a fun happy hour. Crab nachos are great. Drinks: This is where they shine. Lots of local craft beers. New cocktails rotated out regularly. You'll always have an option. Maybe a little pricey but they are good. Dessert: Haven't tried them so I don't want to comment. Atmosphere: It's a bar, but cleaner. Nothing thrilling but thankfully not centered around sportsball. Staff: They are very friendly and attentive.
Visit New Jersey with my 17-year-old daughter for a field hockey tournament. We were looking for good food with gluten-free options in the area of our hotel. Found toast on Google and checked the menu to see that it had a number of GF options. Upon arrival the host sat immediately in a beautiful spacious stand. The waitress quickly came with water and answered some questions we had on the menu. The atmosphere was relaxed, not too loud, but many people and a cool atmosphere. My daughter ordered a burger she loved and it came with sweet potatoes (wasttt!!! what she's talking about today! I ordered the dynamite shrimp that was made gluten-free and was super quality and very nice garnished. I also ordered the turkey avocado sandwich on gluten-free bread, which was amazing and it came with sweet potato sauces that were (insert mind-blown emoji here ghost flowers. Finally, there is no real test (in my opinion, a large bar as they have a simple but classic Bourbon cocktail... the Manhattan. Toast did her job here! The ingredients were on site, the procedures were present and the presentation was correct. If I don't drive, I would have had a few more! I am not sure how this place has only a 4.4 star rating, it is 100% at least a 5-star place. I'm happy to live in an area that has a ton of great food and I can say quite honestly if Toast were located on Jersey Shore, I would be there at least once a week.
Came here for brunch because the menu looked great and some different flavors. It took a while until our server came to our table; then when we did your question with ?doing well, how are you? she seemed underwhelmed and said??.managing I guess?. This should have been our first sign to turn away, but we all have hard days. She brought back water, but seemed very preokkued. We ordered the Chesapeake Omelette and the Pulled Pork Benedict. It took about an hour to get our food and she made a few comments about how the other food before yours is on; but yours has not been brought out yet? And I?m looking for your food, should it come a while ago?. The places are secured, I worked in the industry, but it was definitely a bit weird. We got our food and there was absolutely no taste. The textures were present, but the pig was dry and unseasonal; the sriracha hollandaise had no heat, and the egg was over boiled and gumy, like a marshmallow. I almost had to drown my hash brews in salt and pepper. The biscuit (even if he said it was on an English muffin), was hard and overcooked. I wanted to believe that maybe I had just made a bad choice of dishes; until my friend mentioned that she was also terrible and had no taste and seemed dry. A bit of their Chesapeake Omelette and the only remarkable taste was the onion that was barely cooked and crispy. The shrimps and shrimps were old and bland. $50 was wasted. The ideas of the dishes are definitely solid, but the execution was hot. I'm not back.
