Stargorod Riga Czech Brewery

Went here in the afternoon for a drink with my daughter after an afternoon of sightseeing found the place fairly quiet which was fine. The place is a long rectangular space with a bar at one side. The staff were courteous seated us promptly, speaking good English as you would expect here in Riga. The drinks were brought along with a sand glass timer which the waiter explained that they brewed their beers due to the brewing process the drinks would lose their nutrients after the timer ran out in about 16 to 18 minutes. A nice bit of theatre amusement. We didn't try any food so can't comment on this. They do have a quirky men's toilets where there is a long latrine trough with about 5 t.v screens in the trough protected by a perspex screen, so you can watch t.v while you pee! We spent about 45 mins here.

I stopped by here tonight for some supper and drinks with my wife. It was booked up on the main floor, but there was lots of room upstairs. We were quickly seated, and our waiter had our drinks to our table in a few minutes. I had their lager great beer. I will say that the furniture upstairs is beyond solid no one breaking those chairs. Definitely no frills area. There are TVs everywhere, but all on the same station. As for the lighting, a little too dark for sure. If not for the TVs, not sure if we could see our food hahaha. Now the food was great. I ordered the full size of the pork ribs awesome. A huge serving and then some, and they were delicious. My wife had the pork brisque with mushrooms and cheese. Looked a little different than what we thought, but she really enjoyed it. I would suggest making a reservation to eat on the main floor a much better atmosphere there. Overall the drinks and food were great, but I would suggest a bit more light upstairs. We'll be back. Thanks.

This place is fantastic. Food is very good. I had the appetizer tray which was enough for two. The beer is brewed on site and there are a number of different kinds to choose from. Tuesday is all the beer you can drink for 14 Euro. Can't wait to go back.

Grat food, great craft beers, staf is nice and the atmosphere is just amazing. Realy enjoyed my evening here. If I come to Riga again, will wisit again.
