The Upper Crust Sandwich Shoppe

This place is easily one of Riverside's biggest secrets. The Upper Crust offers incredible homemade soups, sandwiches and desserts 7 days a week. I had the pastrami sandwich on a french roll with potato salad and carrot sticks. I wasn't sure if I'd like the potato salad since I'm not typically a fan and the owner didn't hesitate to offer me a sample to see if I liked it. I took a bite and was wowed by how delicious it was! It was fantastic, and that's saying a lot coming from me. They then told me they make it in-house fresh daily, along with the french rolls and other goodies. While I waited I chatted with the people who run the place and discovered they've been serving up sandwiches here for 20 years! When my sandwich came out it was presented beautifully, and served with a smile. The pastrami itself was hot, juicy and full of flavor. The french roll was unexpectedly soft, fluffy and melded to the meat with melted cheese. Everything I had here oozed with tender love and care and the people inside were great. I can't wait to come back tomorrow after the Mission Inn and try more of their scrumptious sandwiches!

Very very good sandwich shop with lots of house made options. We had both the potato salad and pasta salad that are made fresh in house and they were great. Staff and owner are very friendly and informative. Soups sound good as well. A must try.

Been here a few times always fresh yummy. Customer service is great as well, if you're not sure what sandwich to have they always have a suggestion. And always ask about the special side they might have for the day. I've had yummy chili and tasty soups. And it's located in such a nice part of downtown Riverside.

Incredible place for a sandwich! Homemade French rolls and some bomb pastrami! The tomato bisque warmed my heart and my stomach! Will be hitting up again!

I don't know where to start. This place right off the back gets 5 stars. All the workers were nice and attentive. The shop was welcoming and clean. The owner Cary was so nice. All the workers had smiles on there face. I will be back GUARANTEE. Now let's get into the pastries the cookies and brownies were super good and soft 10 OUT OF 10. Last but not least the Cheesecake OMG!!!! 10 OUT OF 10 as well. This place is a must try if your in Riverside. I'm going back for there sandwiches.... Thanks Cary Staff ?????
