Vinny's Italian - Roanoke

This is our ?go-to? local Italian restaurant. We're never disappointed. The lasagna is the best lasagna I've ever had. The spaghetti and meatballs are fantastic (my usual). The pizza is also very good. The children also love to come here; there is a rubber ball machine. Vinny is always friendly and always asks us how our meal was. A few years ago, our children were unhappy and we decided to go our food. Vinny packed our food, checked us and gave us a bottle of wine and said we would enjoy ourselves; we were defeated by his generosity. We recommend Vinny?s.

Our family travelled here from Amarillo Texas. We?ve spent a few days at Great wolf lodge. While trying to find a local restaurant we ran across Vinny?s. We knew we wanted Italian, and Vinny?s was top notch. The service was amazing. The atmosphere was a beautiful experience. Vinny even hung our sweet girls picture up. (She broke her wrist 6 weeks ago, so we?re still in a cast. if you?re around the area, stop by and enjoy Vinny himself and his great staff.

We had a GREAT experience here. Our server was attentive and kept our drinks full. When we walked in, I saw the bread right away and it looked so good. When they brought it to our table it looked and smelled SO good. And it did not disappoint. Perfectly soft and great taste. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, calamari, and cheese bread for appetizers. They were all delicious and had great flavor. We got 2 pizzas, cheese and the Italian where you choose 6 toppings. The crust was perfectly thin and delicious. Lasty, ordered the Chocolate Mousse Cake ?? it was rich, but not too rich and absolutely delicious!

I really had a bad night at Vinny's... Maybe because I arrived so close to closing, and the food was rushed? I'm not sure, but my food wasn't very good at all, and for a 25.00 selection, -tip. Yes, I still tipped! I feel that is the right thing to do because it's not the server's fault if the food is not cooked properly. Anyway, I expected a lot better. I ordered the salmon w/shrimp and spaghetti. It was very under season, no taste, and the sauce that covered the meal was very unappetizing. I could only consume a few bites then ask for a to-go box because I was too embarrassed to let them know it wasn't very good, and I hate asking for something else, which I should, how else would they know on how to improve on their meals, Right? Well, I'm willing to give them another try, probably a different dish for sure, and I would love to see how the pizza taste.

Lot of places can take tips from this family owned operation. The service was absolutely on point. The staff was quick to seat us and quick to tend to us. The owner operator made numerous trips to ensure that out service was nothing less than stellar. The food was delicious and served quickly shortly after ordering it. The venue is a quaint and relaxing. Before the orders came out we had complementary roll and we ordered the caprese. Both were delicious. I had a wonderful chicken and mushroom cream pasta and my friend had a pasta sampler. Both were delicious as well. To cap of the meal we had a lemon cello cake and cheesecake. Both were savory as well. I will be back in the near future and highly recommend Vinnys. What a nice hidden treat. Thank you for the hospitality Vinny!!!
