China 1 - Rockford

Eating is really good and everyone I treated is kind. My husband and I like to sneak for a quick bite without the kids once in a while and this has become one of our favorites in Rockford. You don't have the buffet now, but that's good.

I called last night. Price for two combo plates was exactly what is printed on their menu and it was enough that each of us to eat two meals. Chicken was tender, large pieces and rice and egg rolls had great taste. Fortunately, the “price-going” reviews were wrong!

Delicious food, quick takeout, and excellent service! I had seen some reviews about price variations, but when I went in, I noticed they had updated menus with accurate prices. My order was calculated based on the new menu, and I encountered no pricing issues. The young man who took my order was friendly and patient, and he confirmed my order before telling me it would be ready in 15 minutes. When I returned after 15 minutes, my food was perfectly prepared and on time. The woman who called my name was so warm and welcoming (she reminded me of my own mother), and she made sure everything was correct before I paid. The fried dumplings, chicken rolls, and crab rangoons were all incredibly tasty! The sesame chicken with rice was also delicious and a surprisingly generous portion! We will definitely be returning!

This was my first experience ordering here, and it was fantastic! The portions were quite generous, and everything was served hot and fresh. The server asked if we could pay in cash, which didn’t surprise me for a small business, as they likely incur fees for credit card transactions. In terms of pricing, I saw her input everything, and the charges seemed accurate—nothing out of the ordinary, despite what some comments claim. I'm not sure if my expectations are standard or not. I will definitely return!

The food has generally been very good during my dozen or so visits over the past few years! I would recommend avoiding the specialty menu, as it seems to be prepackaged and is noticeably inferior to the regular menu. I've seen a lot of reviews criticizing the prices, but I think it's important to consider the impact of inflation.
