Mother Kelly's Rvc - Rockville Centre

I have two key observations about this family-owned restaurant: 1) The reviews from 4 to 6 years ago were actually worse than the more recent ones, indicating that the poor food and service are not just a result of Covid-related challenges. 2) They clearly show a lack of respect for delivery customers, frequently messing up orders—even for families ordering expensive dinner items or workers ordering lunch! If you dare to call and complain, they respond with an attitude and offer no apologies. I ordered five items from Mother Kelly's in Rockville Centre. While the penne with butter sauce was decent, the other four were either poorly prepared or downright unappetizing. My appetizer, the so-called tender BBQ spare ribs priced at $21.00, were burnt on one side. The lobster bisque was far too salty to enjoy. The lasagna noodles were overcooked and mushy, the sauce was overly tangy, and instead of being layered, the ricotta was mixed into the meat! This pricey dish tasted like cheap canned pasta and even contained unwanted meatballs. For dessert, I tried the $10 special featuring five mini cannolis, but one of the shells was completely unfilled. As previously mentioned, the owner and staff offered no apologies when I called to express my concerns as a delivery customer. Despite spending $90.50 on my order, plus an additional $8.00 tip, my experience was disappointing. I remained factual, non-accusatory, and polite, yet the owner’s unpleasant attitude seemed to stem from my not being physically present in the restaurant. Taking advantage of customers is unacceptable. I highly recommend avoiding this restaurant, especially for delivery. Positive changes are needed!

The pizza is excellent; I just wish it had a bit more flavor. Nonetheless, I would still give you five stars! I absolutely love the garlic knots, and the owners are incredibly nice!

Balsamic chicken is excellent, delicious. Large portions very welcoming staff and came with free extras! Garlic knots are the best we’ve had!

Amazing corn beef and cabbage! The best i’ve ever had! The owners are very friendly and very nice! Highly recommend this spot!

Mother Kelly’s is amazing. Delicious food with huge portions. Such nice owners and staff. When you walk in the door they make you feel welcomed. I couldn’t say enough good things about this place!
