Bidra med feedbackThis restaurant is no longer in existence. Very disappointing, as it was a local favorite. We saw the Tripadvisor reviews and couldn't find it. When we Googled it for directions we found out it was permanently closed.
The meals here are awesome. You start with a homemade bun and soup (chowder or beef or turkey with vegetables), proceed to your entree, and end with a homemade dessert and coffee or tea. Portions are huge so you won't go away hungry. And oh, the homemade partridge berry jam is to die for All this with quick friendly service. The napkins are folded into intricate shapes--such attention to detail. The room is inviting with its green/gray walls and gleaming hardwood floors. A great dining experience. Can't wait to go back, see these lovely people again and have another great meal. .
On Sunday nights, you can enjoy traditional provincial dishes like salted corned beef, salted beef, vegetables, boiled potato, mashed yellow peas, and turnip/rutabaga at this restaurant. We also tried a delicious lemon meringue pie for dessert. The food was excellent, but what really stood out was the authentic provincial experience. The restaurant has a cozy, homely atmosphere and can be found on the road to the left of the Ocean View Motel. Just ask a local for directions - it's a short walk uphill.
I chose the restaurant because it was smoke free and previous reviews and was not disappointed. Good vegetable soup in beef broth, the fresh fish scallops, salmon, halibut and cod was delicious and generous. I took the cod and some of the mashed potatoes back home to RV. The sunset views over the water were so beautiful my husband skipped the blueberry pie desert and drove back to the RV to get his camera. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere and that we could easily talk and hear each other!
We ate here on our last night in Rocky Harbour and we were not disappointed. I would say we left the best until last. This is away from Main Street, but well worth the trip. It is a family run restaurant. We had a 3 course meal for $28 I had grilled salmon, and my husband had poached salmon. The price also included a chowder to start, and a homemade dessert we both had homemade blueberry pie with icecream. Dinner roll also included. All of the food was fresh, and the staff were so kind they came to chat to us, but not in an obtrusive. Such great value for money, and such a lovely place. Should we ever return to Rocky Harbour, we will most definitely be visiting again!
