Schloss Romrod

Came here to stay as my German friend recommended for us to stay in a 900+ years old castle turned hotel. It doesn’t disappoint. Indeed it was historic, well maintained and modernized to be a hotel. The roundabout view from level 3 is beautiful. Although Romrod is small town but it’s really a nice quiet place for a short visit. Service: 5

In 2016 we celebrated our wedding at Schloss Romrod. Everything was great. Therefore, after 6 years we moved back to this great situation. Unfortunately no more comparison. In front of the gates of the castle was a mukkeletaler small Christmas market. On the one hand, the many visitors of the Christmas market went through half the day, i.e. the flooding of the room, was a bit disturbing and on the other hand they had concerns to leave valuables in the room. The menu at the restaurant was as hot as it was. The staff was really hard. After dinner we moved to the legendary Cuban bar. No cocktails were served, not even a typical Cuba Libre. Rum stood on the map and also Cola, there was only not in a glass. The bar operation was stopped at about 10 o'clock without notice. We were told in the vault where cheaper wine was given by very nice people. Everything can or should not be pushed to Corona. Maybe you should rethink his concept. The wedding couples to redirect to the second location, Villa Raab, is unfortunately not the best idea. Since the flair of a castle you cannot offer a bride anywhere else. We will keep our wedding in good memory despite everything.

A beautifully renovated former hunting lodge, which is owned by the Monumentschutz Foundation. The hotel is worth a single trip as a destination. The location in the middle of Hesse is very close to the A5. We were there at a wedding. The service was friendly and ok, but not overwhelming (partly bad quality of the German language). The food was good and the information of the cook was very good and friendly. Overall I felt comfortable and the decor and the flair enjoyed ABER the rooms were undamaged expensive and the breakfast was below average. Our room was even good compared to the room of our friends who ran right next to the laundry room where the washing machine ran on Saturday from 05:30. That was really great.
