A little jewel of an orte. the new managers are friendly as the locals. has a lot of live music that can be a blessing or curse, depending on what they are after. good garden, parking for people who prefer a koks rather than an ale. oh yes, it is more a pub than a camp pub.
I seldom go in here as it has a feel of a pub for local people feel, not that it is a bad thing but I sense you need to have been regular attendees at the bar before it feels like your local. Always good and busy, often with live bands or football. The beer is good and the wine selection broad enough for me. The pub always throws itself into local events with gusto, the regulars and staff like to have fun.
It's simply a lovely pub—a truly authentic one! The service is exceptional and welcoming, even with the COVID restrictions in place. The new manager has done an excellent job with the decor transformation. I can't wait for the pub to fully open so I can experience its full potential!
We stopped here as a group of Leeds fans on our way to Southampton. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the beer garden was lovely. However, the beer selection was a bit lacking; they were out of Madri when we arrived, and then they ran out of Stella as well. Despite this, it was overall a nice and inviting place.
