Sitar Indian Restaurant - Round Hill

My husband and I always seek out quality Indian food, being of Indian descent ourselves, so we were excited to discover that Sitar offers both South and North Indian cuisine. We visited for the buffet, which we found to be a good deal with delicious food. However, on a subsequent dinner visit a few weeks later, we learned that the buffet was no longer available on weekdays. We opted to order dishes such as curries, naan, rice, and samosas from the menu instead. The service was slow, and we had to repeatedly request rice and additional plates from the waitress. The chicken curry I ordered was slightly burnt and lacked spice, while my husband's lamb curry was also lacking in flavor and spice. We were so disappointed with the dinner that we ended up going to a fast food joint afterwards for fries and nuggets (which hit the spot). When you have to go for fast food after dining at a restaurant, you know the food was not up to par. Unless there are reviews indicating that the food has improved, we do not plan on returning.

Beautiful tasty curries with whole spices. Range of options. Good value for money. BYO, with a bottle shop near by to pick up something to drink with dinner.

The food here is fantastic! I have never had a bad meal and we come regularly. Best Dosais in Queensland for sure!! Keep up the awesome food and great service!!

We arrived Gladstone at about 8 PM on a Sunday and all other restaurants were taking last orders or closed. However this restaurant remained open for us and cooked some very delicious a la carte dishes for us. No licence for refreshments in the restaurant but one of my colleagues found a beer store nearby. Really enjoyed our visit.

We found this very tasty Indian restaurant via a brochure in the foyer of our accommodation (we stayed at the Gladstone City Central Apartment Hotel) and really enjoyed how such delicious food was delivered to our door with no fuss, and at quite a crackin pace (30 mins (ish)! Our first stop was the peshwari naan, which enhanced our selection of chicken biryani rice and madras beef, accompanied by a nice serving of raita and chilli pickle. YUMBO! I'd like to add that the staff I encountered over the phone, and at the delivery point were very helpful, friendly and very polite.
