Bidra med feedbackIf you're looking for a mouth burn from Sichuan peppercorns, go check out Chengdu Taste in Rowland Heights. There are other locations in SoCal as well.We ordered a few dishes when we had dinner there:-Dry stir fry pig intestines $19.99)-Sauteed eggplant w/ spicy garlic sauce $13.99)-Mung bean jelly noodle in chili sauce $8.99)-Toothpick lamb w/ cumin $22.99)-Cuiyun boiled fish with pickled cabbage and chili $21.99)-Wonton w/ green pepper soup $10.99)Of these dishes, we thought the intestines, eggplant, and mung bean jelly noodle were our favorites. We were all sweating while eating, but enjoying the mouth-numbing food. Would definitely try some other dishes next time too! They have fast and efficient service and there is ample parking in this complex.
Unapologetically delicious. Numbingly original, the fish cooked to perfection, meaty, soft, not over cooked, juicy and flavourful albeit swarming in Szechuan peppers that make your mouth and tongue numb, no wonder they didn't give us any spoon. The delicious broth isn't to slurp. The fish was out of this world. The mapo tofu was perfection but the Chengdu fried rice that was laced with pork that was a marriage between ham and bacon, succulent and tasty, yet the fireworks of flavour did not blast the dish as it was delicate and dainty, perfect accompaniment to our tofu and fish dishes. The restaurant's decor was cheerfully elegant in old time China red, the place buzzing with locals ordering a big bowl of something good. From outside it's so unassuming but the taste of the food is anything but. It is a must if you truly want a taste of Chengdu without having to leave LA.
This is definitely for the thrill-seeker who loves living life on the edge. The interior design will transport you to Chengdu, China, and leave your tongue feeling like it just got into a brawl with a spice dragon! The Szechuan peppers are so numbing, you'll swear you're speaking in tongues and seeing red for the next few days. You can always order the plum juice to soothe your mouth while your tastebuds cry for mercy.Speaking of crying, if you don't order the toothpick lamb, you might as well pack your bags and move to Antarctica because you've failed at life. This dish is so deliciously spicy that you won't stop eating it until your eyes water like a broken faucet. And just when you think the heat has subsided, your butt will start burning like a wildfire, reminding you of the spicy Szechuan adventure you had days ago!
Top tier szechuan eatsToothpick lamb, fish with chili oil, spicy pork hock, dan dan noodles, wontons with chili sauce are all elite options.Food: 5/5
Was in the mood to get my spicy on and Chengdu Taste hit the spot and fulfilled my cravings! We ordered a vegetable pot and the steamed fish head. Both dishes were super tasty! The vegetable pot was very fragrant with sesame oil and topped with sesame seeds. The steamed fish head had incredible flavors. Garlic. Chili. Onions. Just as I like it! The restaurant utilizes an online menu and ordering system. The service is attentive and pleasant. The restaurant itself is a bit dark and older, yet clean and friendly. Modern music plays to help drown out all the chatting going on! Lol! Went on a weekend lunch and there were tables available yet it was also hopping with customers. I'm definitely coming back!
