Don't miss out on their weekend special, Nasi Bungkus (rice wrapped in banana leaf). It has a spiciness level of 4 out of 5.
This restaurant is my top choice for Indonesian cuisine. The food is of excellent quality and expertly seasoned with authentic Indonesian spices. The chicken satay is simply the best!
This is a fantastic place to eat! I highly recommend coming back here. The staff are hardworking and skilled cooks.
My first visit to Java Spice was about five years ago with friends, and I recall it being incredibly busy, with all the tables filled and servers bustling from one table to another. It was my first experience with Indonesian food, and it left quite an impression. Recently, I remembered Java Spice and decided to revisit. A little heads-up: the prices listed online are not entirely accurate, and you should expect to pay a bit more. I ordered Nasi Goreng Kornet and Char Kway Teaw. The food was hot when I arrived, but the total for just those two dishes (including taxes) came to over $30. I understand inflation is a factor, but it would have been nice to have been informed of the prices when I placed my order, or at least when paying. They didn't have takeaway menus available yet, although they plan to have them next month, which suggests that prices might increase even further. Unfortunately, the Nasi Goreng Kornet was not as I remembered; it was dry and felt more like rice cooked in sauce, served with a small egg and a few slices of tomato and cucumber. On the other hand, the Char Kway Teaw was quite delicious, though I didn't feel it justified the price tag. Even on a busy Friday afternoon, the parking lot was packed, but there weren't many customers dining in at Java Spice. The service was good, and the food was well-packaged. I appreciated the small container of red garlic chili sauce included in each order. They also sell Indonesian snacks and other items. There aren't many Indonesian restaurants in the area, so it's great to see that Java Spice is still operational and providing this culinary option.
