Varrelmann's Bake Shop - Rutherford

There's no better bakery out there! I recently moved to the Meadowlands area, and a friend recommended that I explore downtown Rutherford on weekends, especially during the autumn. That's when my husband and I discovered this gem! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the cashier—what a delight! We were quickly drawn to their extensive selection of treats and didn't feel rushed at all. The cashier was incredibly helpful, answering all our questions and helping us find exactly what we wanted. She even shared some great recommendations for restaurants and activities in the area. I can't wait to make this bakery a regular stop!

I stopped in at Vallemann 's Bake Shop last month, Nov. 2021..Back in the Area now, was happy to see they are still in Rutherford. Same Warm, Friendly greeting when you enter. I noticed the Rice Pudding Bread Pudding.. Looked like my Mom 'S old Receipe.. I had to try them. So Excellent , Perfection !!! I just ordered each to surprise my Brother for after our Family Christmas Dinner! The great memories of these Nastalgic Deserts will bring Happy Memories!!!

I absolutely adore Varrelmanns! This beloved spot in Rutherford has remained unchanged for a good reason: why alter perfection? While they offer a delightful selection of cakes, pastries, and donuts, the real highlight is their butter cookies! They use a traditional recipe, and it's easy to see why! Stop by and treat yourself—you won’t be disappointed!

Ordered a German chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and buttercream icing. This was 2 days before Thanksgiving and I could pick it up on Thanksgiving morning... It was just divine! This was my first experience with Varrelmann's and I will certainly try everything on the menu again.
