Under new ownership. Tomato sauce out of a jar, chicken francese sauce loaded with flour, management couldn’t care less pork chops listed on menu was plural, only served with one thin pork chop. Cool little spot in the heart of the Rutherford circle. It is a byob which is always fun. We started with the salad and bread (both were complimentary). Decent Ceasar dressing for sure! Bread was nice and traditional. We got the mussels as an app. They were cooked really well, and no shells broke into the sauce. Very soupy sauce, but in a good way. For the entre, we got the spaghetti and clams and the shrimp and linguini. Both seafood broths were decent. The clams were okay, but particularly, that day could have been fresher. The shrimp was good but was slightly overcooked. We got espresso to finish, and it was strong and nice. It's definitely worth checking out. Parking is a bit scarce in the area, but you'll find something. Cost wise, it isn't too bad at all. Overall, I give Volares a 3.4 out of 5. Unbelievable! This place is a must when you are visiting San Diego! I am an Italian from New York City and the food here was incredible! I loved it.
